Give your family a name (“The Smiths”), add your first name, and pick a meeting day: a day you’re usually all home for 15 minutes. You can change it later.
Put it on your Home Screen and turn on notifications3 min
Notifications only work from the Home Screen app on iPhone, so do this before anything else.
- In Safari, tap Share (the square with an arrow), then Add to Home Screen, then Add.
- Open Family Fifteen from the new icon. If it asks, sign in again with a fresh code.
- Go to Family → Alerts, turn on Notifications on this phone, and tap Allow.
Android: in Chrome, tap ⋮ then Install app, open it, and turn on notifications the same way.
Work through the checklist10 min
The Week page shows a setup checklist. It ticks itself off as you go.
- Add the kids. First names only. Kids under 13 never get their own sign-in.
- Invite the other parent. Family → People → invite. Text them the link; they do steps 1 and 3 on their own phone.
- What do you cook often? Tick your regular dinners so the draft suggests meals you actually make.
- Diet needs and your calendar are optional. If you connect Google Calendar, you choose what the family sees. While we’re testing, Google may show a “hasn’t verified this app” screen; tap Continue.
Hold your first meeting15 min
The evening before your meeting day, everyone gets a short check-in. Kids can answer from a link a parent opens for them.
Early on meeting day, the app drafts your week: dinners, who drives, and anything that needs a decision. Suggestions are marked ✦ so you can see why.
Sit down together, open Meeting, and tap Next through the steps. The first time, each step explains itself. When you finish, everyone’s phone shows the plan.
Something annoying or confusing?
That’s the most useful thing you can tell us. Text the person who invited you, or tap Annoying? at the top of any screen in the app. Honest beats polite.
